Resolution: Framework for Action on the Health and Care Workforce in the WHO European Region 2023–2030
Delegates at the 73rd Regional Committee in Astana (26 October 2023) unanimously passed a resolution to adopt WHO/Europe’s new Framework for Action on the health and care workforce 2023-30 – a political commitment to put into action measures to tackle the health workforce crisis.
The Framework for Action aims to achieve a fit for purpose health workforce in the WHO European Region to meet growing and changing needs.
Its 5 key recommended actions below ensure that health and care workers are at the centre of health systems:

2) Build Supply
3) Retain and recruit
4) Optimize performance
5) Plan
