EJD Spring Meeting - General Assembly 2022 - Day 1

Junior Doctors' representatives from 20 European countries gathered together this  weekend in the Finnish capital of Helsinki, hosted by the Finnish Junior Doctors Association.

On Day 1, Post-graduate training, Medical workforce planning, EU/EAA affairs have been on the table for discussion and exchange of information and knowledge.

A workshop on "European Working Time Directive" implementation, based on 3 different scenarios was offered to participants, engaging them into fruitful deliberations on pros and cons of every aspect of its implementation in daily medical practice. An inspiring welcoming speech by the Finnish Minister of Family Affairs and Social Services, Dr. Aki Lindén was delivered, as well as comprehensive lectures on EU Health Union  by guest speakers Dr. Válter R Fonseca, MD PhD and the WHO Special Envoy for the European region, former EU Commissioner for Health and former Lithuanian Health Minister, Mr. Vytenis Povilas Andriukaitis.

The 1st General Assembly session followed in the afternoon, with the presentation and approval of board members' reports, as well as the adoption of previous AM21 minutes.

Delegates were then welcomed by the Finnish Medical Association for a relaxed dinner and sauna experience at its Headquarters in downtown Helsinki.
